Perth’s King St has become a veritable café hotspot in recent years. Serving as a central artery from public transport to the main CBD hub; King St sees all manner of inner city workers walk its length every day. Situated at the Wellington St end of King St, The Mess at Uncle Joe’s is the first stop for many bleary-eyed commuters on their way into the office.
Sharing a space with Highs and Lows (well-known boutique clothing store) and namesake Uncle Joe’s Barber, The Mess is an eclectic bohemian-style eatery offering up full breakfast and lunch options, healthy snacks and, of course, amazing specialty coffee.
Joe’s ‘laneway’ location offers patrons a secluded escape from the chaos of the inner city and a cool (literally and figuratively) spot away from the summer heat; the cold-brew coffee is a local favourite too if hot drinks aren’t your thing.
Coffee-wise there are few places to match Joe’s selection. With a constantly rotating array of single origin coffee on offer (both espresso and filter style), knowledgeable staff and a killer house blend, it’s very hard to go wrong. Joe’s machine of choice is an iconic La Marzocco Linea PB which takes pride of place on the centre bar in front of the open kitchen. Retail coffee is also available on demand and can be ground fresh to suit your needs, ask the friendly staff members for their favourites this week.
Whether you’re in the market for a quick takeaway coffee, a sit-down meal with friends or even a cheeky midday trim at the barber, Joe’s is the place to be!
The Mess at Uncle Joe’s is opening hours. Mon – Fri 7.00am – 2.30pm Sat 7.30am – 12.30pm
