At Dimattina, we embrace the extraordinary, even in the overlooked corners of the coffee world. Introducing Masha Burundi Coffee, a hidden gem sourced from the prestigious Masha washing station in Kayanza province. Kayanza coffee is famous for its clean, sweet and delicate stonefruit notes (think apricot, peach and plum). This lot hails from a small farm in a sub-hill known for its uniform elevation (1672-1700 m.a.s.l), ensuring even cherry maturation and a remarkably consistent cup. Masha Burundi is a washed lot, allowing the true essence of the terroir to shine while minimizing unwanted acids. The resulting profile of Masha is nothing short of staggering. On the cupping table we enjoyed notes of apricot jam, honeydew melon and golden syrup as well as a long and lingering mouthfeel. Highly recommended as espresso or filter style but will also come out great in milk-based drinks.
