Peter Kugi Ndugo began producing coffee after inheriting his family’s estate in 2010. Retiring from his successful financial career, Peter fell in love with the family business and has been striving to improve his coffee every year. The estate ‘Petit’ (literally ‘small’ in French) was chosen simply because Peter spent a lot of time in France and the estate is small; the coffee he produces there however is a much bigger deal! Grown in the foothills of Mt Kenya, Petit’s coffee is comprised of the well-known and highly regarded SL-28 and SL-34 varieties as well as a small quantity of the lesser known Batian. The combination of these three different varieties produces a beautifully balanced and well-rounded coffee.
