Since its conception in 2011, the Aeropress has won critical international acclaim both for the quality of coffee it produces and its affordability; its compact design and durability have also found it a niche as the go-to travel brewing device. Originally designed as an affordable way to replicate espresso style coffee using air pressure to speed up extraction time, the Aeropress has evolved far beyond the vision of its creators. Today the Aeropress has a near-cult following with multiple brewing methods commonly in use that were never part of the original design. There is now a World Aeropress Championship and a Mile High Aeropress Club (brewing coffee at altitude using an Aeropress).
