A washed Burundi that sparkles and shines

Meet Maruri, a standout coffee from the Dusangirijambo Coop in the lush hills of Kayanza. This community of smallholder farmers has been dedicated to producing exceptional coffee since 2013, and this year’s harvest is truly delightful.

Burundi microlots are renowned for their outstanding cup quality and unique flavor profiles. Maruri comes from cherries processed at the Bugenyuzi washing station. Here, washed lots are depulped the same day they are harvested and delivered. After a 12-18 hour fermentation and a sun-soaked drying period of 10-14 days, these beans are ready to shine. The result is a coffee that bursts with fresh nectarine, mild cooked orange, and a hint of caramel. It’s sweet, smooth, and has that perfect mellow acidity that keeps you coming back for more. We’re beyond excited to share this coffee with you.
