Muhathi is a five-hectare farm in Kiambu County, owned by Peris Wambui Karugondo and run with the help of her son Sam. The land has been in the family for generations, and the lot is still processed at the wet mill Peris’ father built in the 1980s.
Peris is hands-on in the truest sense, overseeing everything from picking to sorting, so quality isn’t left to chance. Muhathi has all the structure and clarity you hope for from a classic Kenyan, with SL28, SL34 and Batian in the mix.
Strawberry, blackcurrant and black tea give it all the hallmarks of one too: bright, layered and refined, with a buttery mouthfeel that rounds things out nicely.
Region: Central Kenya
Elevation: 1,720 m.a.s.l
Variety: SL28, SL34, Batian
Process: Washed
Roasted in small batches. Please allow up to 3 days for dispatch.
